JOIN THE MOVEMENT:
The WALK team

Kristin Littrell, Web writer/editor

I WALK with you in a lot of different ways – I write the content for the Web site, brainstorm new ways for you to be involved with the WALK, find resources so you can learn more about the world, and some other things, too.

I've been passionate about helping to end extreme poverty since I was in high school, but gave up the dream of working in this field for a while when I changed my major in college. Thankfully, life always works out, and now my interest has become my full-time job – working with those living in poverty worldwide. I’m so thankful for this opportunity. And, I’m really enjoying getting to be involved with the WALK!

I traveled to Kenya a few months ago, and that trip changed me even more. Meeting students who haven't been able to go to school for years was really heartbreaking. But, I’m so excited that we have an easy way for you to get involved!

Sabrina Orrison, Web designer/director

After working in the corporate world for a few years, I wanted something different. I took a year off and lived in a convent with seven sisters, in India, teaching English and computers to deaf children of all ages.

Did I love it? I love it now; I love that I did it, that I said "I want to do this …" and actually did it. I love how it changed me and how I grew in so many ways.

Did I love it while I was actually there? It was so hard! I missed so many things about home, but it was completely worth it. I really believe that the things worthwhile in our lives are usually the hardest.

When I came back, I started working at CFCA (who sponsors the WALK). I love it. I thought people were lying when they would say, "I love my job," but it's really true. I get to do Web design for a non-profit, helping to spread the word about international poverty and what we can do to help.

Web coders extraordinaire

We are the computer programmers who also work on the site, don’t get our picture taken and pretty much stay behind the scenes.

Why do we do it? We love our job. What can we say?

Locked away in the remote, darkened and largely forgotten recesses of the CFCA world headquarters building, we cave-dwelling, socially awkward programmers slave away, bearing the brunt of the backbreaking work it takes to bring this site to you.

Please, enjoy the site, and don’t think of us neglected nerds who have to bring our own birthday treats. Nay, enjoy, and give the credit to the beautiful people with state-of-the-art equipment and OSHA-approved lighting within their workspaces.
